A Guide To Our Terpenes: Part Two

Here at Silver Owl, we’ve spent the past year mixing all kinds of terpenes into our products and in doing so have managed to produce some of the industry’s most delicious flavors across the board. We’ve fielded enough questions about these that we felt now would be a good time to explain terpenes to our community.

We must warn you: though this article will attempt to simplify the subject, it’s a very complex one. And while we can share the most common uses of individual terpenes as reported by end users and scientific studies, we cannot make any usage recommendations or express any claims such as, “Hey! Pinene cures cancer!” We simply do not yet have enough conclusive evidence to support such claims; making them anyways would be unethical, illegal, and have the FDA on us like cheese on macaroni. So take this all with a grain of salt.

The first part of this closer look into terpenes offered a detailed breakdown of all the basics you should know about these unsaturated hydrocarbons found in cannabis, hemp and a plethora of other plants. This article’s got something a little juicier: information about ten of the terps most often added to our products here at Silver Owl HQ. So heat those quartz straws and bangers because it’s about to get saucy!

Before We Begin…

This article lists some of the terpenes we use and the flavors they provide to our products, in addition to some of their purported properties. These properties have been reported by end users and researched in labs across the world, but currently remain unverified in the eyes of the law. And as mentioned earlier, these statements have not been approved by the FDA- nor have these terpenes or any of our products been certified for medicinal use by the regulatory agency.

Overlaps, Missing Mentions

While we’ve covered the basics and listed the terpenes most responsible for some of your favorite Silver Owl products’ delicious flavors, it’s worth mentioning that this is not a complete list of the terpenes we use- just the most common ones in our mixes. These mixes utilize meticulously formulated combinations of terps to produce their flavor, meaning that the products mentioned above contain more of these than the one terpene listed for them.

We’ve got some honorable mentions too: namely our Broad Spectrum, Full Spectrum and Hemp Flower products. Silver Owl’s Broad Spectrum and Full Spectrum Extracts contain most, if not all, of these terpenes, along with others that didn’t make this top ten list.

As discussed in Part 1 of this miniseries, industrial hemp flower buds contain some of nature’s highest concentrations of these compounds. Though each of our strains will have a predominant terpene dictating its taste and smell, you’ll be able to enjoy the full spectrum of terps- and cannabinoids- with the use of raw hemp.

If you’re seeking out rich terpene contents more than you’re concerned about specific cannabinoids, try some of our strains of hemp flower; and if you only care about the milligrams of CBD, CBG or Delta 8 in your products, you can at least trust the Silver Owl CBD Company to provide the best, most delicious experience possible!
